Well, I feel like every single man in that film was quite enough monster on a conscious level without needing to bring the subconscious into it at all. But it was a very cool concept, and Robby is the best!

Looking forward to reading up on the making of because some of those effects were fabulous. But now it's going on for 4am so the rabbithole will just have to wait.

I’m glad finally got me to watch Forbidden Planet. It would have been so much better without the shoehorned-in love story and the sexism and the “comic relief” drinking, but it appears to be one of the great granddaddies of all sci-fi.
